A native of Austria, raised in Germany, Beatrix Rohlsen now lives in the mountains above Santa Barbara, CA. As an abstract painter, her recent work is known for its visionary style through the use of oils and acrylic. A series labeled as " Atmospheric Landscapes", each painting reflects natures changing and diverse landscapes through choice of color, light and design.

At an early age, Beatrix was mesmerized by colors in nature which influenced her way of painting. In later years she further developed her painting style studying under Michelle Cassou and Stewart Cubley, founders of The Painting Experience.

Maintaining a working Studio at Bell Arts in Ventura gives her the opportunity to create on a consistent basis which has lead to a series of Gallery showings in Ventura, Ojai and Santa Barbara. Her solid body of work has caught the attention of various art lovers around the world.

"What I like most about painting is that a brush stroke can change anything in a magical way - if I see something I don't like, I simply paint over it. It is still beneath, and therefore always a part of the painting, though the painting itself may have changed significantly."
